Vehicle Co2 emissions is the term used to describe the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by a vehicle, either in a year or some other defined period of time. The description often uses metric tons of carbon dioxide emitted per year.
One definition states that approximatley 2.31 kg of carbon dioxide are released into the atmosphere with the burning of each litre of petrol. For diesel the figure is approximately 2.68 kg of carbon dioxide per litre used.
The amount of carbon dioxide released by vehicles is dramatically affected by how the vehicle is driven.
Emtec’s platform uses our algorithm to accurately measure the Co2 produced by a vehicle, gaining its data from the vehicle’s engine. This takes into consideration the way the vehicle is driven and the driving conditions.
